The exhibit, a tribute to Alice in Wonderland, will run from May 21st - August 14th, 2016 at the beautiful California Center for the Arts in Escondido which will celebrate making a world of our own more wonderful while contributing awareness and raising money for GMRF! Over 30 world renowned artists, including Syfy's celebrity Face Off judge, Neville Page, well known for his creature and concept design work on Avatar, Star Trek, and Prometheus, will be presenting their work in support of this cause. Neville has also been an outstanding ambassador for the GMRF mission, and is seen here recently on a trip to Shriner's Hospital where a child is being fitted for a new prosthetic. Four children will also be showcasing their work at the museum!
The non-profit, non-partisan Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF) aids children who are missing limbs, have lost the use of their limbs, have damaged eyes, or have been severely burned due to an injury from war, natural disaster, or illness.
A recent article published in The Atlantic detailed the story of children in Tanzania with albinism who are targeted by hunters seeking to chop off their arms and legs as they believe that their body parts are potent for use in witchcraft.
Since its founding in 1997, the GMRF and founder Elissa Montanti have brought more than 150 children to the U.S. from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia for treatments, surgeries, prosthetic limbs, and eye fittings.
Donate now to the Global Medical Relief Fund and unlock the support these children need. Thank you!
